Don’t buy anything Beis, it’s more for aesthetic and not longevity. Baggu bags are a bottomless pit. For the personal item, just make sure it has a trolley strap. You can find some good ones at TJ Maxx/Marshalls or Amazon.

I went on 150 flights last year. The Away carry on for sure, I can shove so much in it. The Calpak Luka duffel has broke on me twice. Don’t buy anything Beis, it’s more for aesthetic and not longevity. Baggu bags are a bottomless pit. For the personal item, just make sure it has a trolley strap. I just said Monos & the Luka Duffel so basically the same. Monos and Away are very similar. I'm Monos for life though after they sent me a brand new large check-in after Delta broke my zipper. Their customer service is top notch.
